This blog is the story of the creation of Stacey College. Even though I am beginning to tell the story today, the work began towards the end of 2011. I was approached about the idea of beginning an English Language College in Perth, and given the task of finding out how this would be done. I accepted the challenge and was excited at the prospect of a steep learning curve. I rushed in and was quickly engulfed by a flood of acronyms.
ASQA, AMES, CELTA, CSWE, CRICOS, EA, EAP, ELICOS, ESL, ESOL, IELTS, NEAS, RTO, TESOL – just to name a few.
I’ve waded through guidelines, and national standards, and applications, and registrations, and explanations of each one. As an outsider coming in the whole system can seem a little complicated at times. But I have not been deterred.
So after about 5 months of work I have got to the point of launching into cyberspace the beginnings of Stacey College. This blog is my personal account – only for the really committed who want to know more of the story.
